Following the July 20th release of  the OGB Remixes EP via the Bay Area’s staple electronic/bass label MalLabel Music, OKC rapper, producer, and multi-instrumentalist J French kicks off the fall season (10/11/2018) with his Letter To H.E.R. video clip.

Letter To H.E.R” is a short song I made in admiration of soul music and one of my favorite R&B artist doing it right now. It’s also a letter to the type of women I admire.” – J French   

“Letter To H.E.R” is from J French‘s forthcoming OGB 1.5 album. Due out November 9, OGB 1.5 is a complete overhaul of the original OGB album (released via EMPIRE at the beginning of this year), with new original songs and remixes.

J French is an accomplished rapper, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Oklahoma City. His first rhyme was written to Devin The Dude‘s “Don’t Wait” at age 12. French has successfully garnered a strong regional following that spans Texas, Oklahoma, and LA. French’s father, Brother Num, is a two-time Grammy Award-winning musician who has contributed to works by Common (background vocals and xylophone on “Go”), Naughty By NatureConsequenceBootsy Collins (w/ Burning Spear), and more. While Num provided French with his formal percussion training early on, French eventually went on to master the cornet,piano, xylophone, violin, and cello by middle school. French has since worked with Grammy Award-winning producer Jah Born (of Erykah Badu‘s official band RC & The Gritz), and more. Now as a voting member of the Grammys, French has aspirations of one day collecting a Grammy award of his own. In addition to putting the finishing touches on his next solo album, French has been hard at work on a project with producer Demitrius “Meech” Shipp Sr. for the better part of 2017.
