A Minnesota native and a talented artist, Zack King has been professionally invested in music since graduating college, where he found it gave him a sense of solace and content. He’s a kind soul who wants to be able to use his music for the good, saying “I want to be remembered as a caring, outgoing person who treated everyone equally, as someone who can make others feel uplifted through my music. If I can do that, I’ll know I’ve fulfilled my purpose.”
His newest single “Take it Away” and accompanying video is a pop rock classic and one we are happy to have graced our ears. With sounds of U2 and Green Day, “Take it Away” is about the painful memories after a breakup. It’s completely relatable as we all have great memories from past relationships that we don’t want to remember because it’s too painful, despite how positive they may be.
The music video for “Take it Away” is a visualization of the pain one feels. He’s writhing in pain as the memories play out on the walls surrounding him. He’s boxed in by these emotions and he can’t escape. There’s nothing to do but sit with it and wait for it to pass. He sings to the viewers as well, creating an open and vulnerable space for him. He’s sharing his pain and wants the viewer to know they are not alone.
Zack King has grown and continues to grow as an artist. His dynamic pop rock sound and sultry voice elevate his music to places he never knew he could go. We can’t wait to see what else Zack has in store.
