America has a new wellness obsession — and it comes straight from Australian apples. When Dr Vincent, the country’s leading antioxidant researcher and founder of Renovatio, made his US television debut, viewers responded with unprecedented enthusiasm, snapping up his products at a rate of one every three seconds. The “Aussie Apple Doc” has officially arrived, turning a first‑time appearance into a breakout phenomenon that’s now reshaping the American wellness landscape. As demand surges and his return to US screens accelerates, Dr Vincent’s rise marks a powerful moment for Australian innovation on the world stage.
Your US television debut sold out before the segment even ended. What was going through your mind as you watched Americans respond in real time?
It was honestly surreal. I know it probably sounds strange, but it felt like I was sitting in the front row of a roller coaster for two straight hours.
More than anything, I felt incredibly honoured and privileged. Here I was, an Australian scientist who started his journey in a university laboratory, and suddenly millions of Americans were welcoming me into their homes and listening to my story.
What made it even more emotional was knowing that people weren’t just buying products. They were connecting with a mission. My dream has always been to help people become healthier and happier, and to see that resonate with viewers in real time was something I will never forget.

Americans have started calling you the “Aussie Apple Doc.” How do you feel about that nickname and what does it represent to you?
I absolutely love it, not in an arrogant way but in a very “is this real” kinda of way.
While my training is in science, I often joke that half of my soul belongs on a farm. In another life, I probably would have been an apple farmer.
The nickname represents everything I stand for. It represents the connection between nature and science, between agriculture and innovation. My work began with Australian apples, but it grew into something much bigger.
To be representing Australian science, Australian agriculture and Australian innovation in the world’s largest wellness market is genuinely a pinch-me moment.
Your products reportedly sold at a rate of one item every three seconds. Why do you think US audiences connected so instantly with your science and your story?
I am incredibly grateful that American viewers gave me their time and listened to my journey.
I was born in a country where many people simply cannot afford to be sick. That experience shaped my belief that health should be more accessible and that science should be used to improve people’s lives.
My grandmother was the first person to benefit from my invention. The Activated Phenolics I extracted from Australian apples helped support her as she battled a painful inflammatory condition. Watching her regain her mobility and confidence gave me the motivation to continue my research.
At the end of the day, I’m not a salesman and I’m certainly not a marketing guru. I’m simply a scientist who wants to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
I think people can sense authenticity. They know when someone genuinely cares, and I believe that’s what connected with audiences.
Activated Phenolics is at the heart of your formulations. For people hearing about it for the first time, what makes this antioxidant technology so groundbreaking?
Activated Phenolics is the result of solving a challenge that scientists had been working on for decades.
We have always known that apples contain powerful antioxidants called phenolics, but historically it has been difficult to extract them efficiently and preserve their biological activity without using harsh chemicals.
What we discovered was a patented water-only extraction process that unlocks and activates these natural compounds while preserving their functionality.
In simple terms, it allows the body to access more of the goodness that already exists in nature.
What excites me most is that we didn’t create a synthetic ingredient. We simply found a better way to unlock the potential of something nature had already perfected.
That combination of natural origins and scientific innovation is what makes Activated Phenolics so unique.

You solved an 80-year scientific challenge using only water. Can you walk us through the moment you realised you had cracked something the world had been trying to figure out for decades?
The truth is, I panicked.
It was very early in the morning when I analysed the extraction results and the numbers simply didn’t make sense. They were much higher than I expected.
My first thought was that I had made a mistake.
I immediately ran to my supervisor’s office, showed him the data and he thought it was an error too. He told me to repeat the experiment.
So I did.
Then I repeated it again.
And again.
Eventually we realised the results were real.
It was one of those rare moments in science where excitement and disbelief collide. You spend years chasing an idea and then suddenly you’re looking at evidence that suggests you’ve discovered something genuinely new.
It was both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
Australian wellness products are having a global moment. What do you think Americans find so compelling about Australian science and produce?
Australia has built a reputation for producing clean, safe and trusted products.
We have some of the highest standards in the world when it comes to food production, manufacturing and quality control, and consumers recognise that.
But beyond the regulations, I think there is something uniquely Australian about our approach to wellness. We like things that are practical, evidence-based and straightforward.
We don’t believe health should be overly complicated.
Australia is also blessed with incredible agricultural resources, passionate farmers and world-class researchers. When you bring all those elements together, you create products that have authenticity, quality and scientific credibility.
I think Americans are increasingly looking for brands they can trust, and Australian products, such as An Apple A Day, APSKIN and Activated Phenolics, are well positioned to meet that demand.
ShopLC has already accelerated your return to US screens. How are you preparing for this next wave of American demand?
This time it’s even bigger.
I’ll be doing two live shows, which means four hours of live television with no script, no editing and no second takes.
Personally, I’ve been focusing on my health, making sure I’m getting enough sleep, staying active and keeping my immune system in top condition. I’ve also been taking my Immunity Plus+ every day because travelling and live television can be quite demanding.
Behind the scenes, our team has been working tirelessly. We’ve increased inventory, strengthened our supply chain and coordinated closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure we’re ready for increased demand.
The first appearance exceeded all expectations. This time we’re better prepared, but my goal remains exactly the same: show up, be authentic, share the science and hopefully inspire more people to take charge of their health. And also to have a good time, you can laugh with me or at me, as long as we are laughing, I am happy!
You grew up learning English by watching shopping channels. How does it feel to now be the expert millions of Americans are tuning in to watch?
It feels like a full-circle moment.
Growing up in Indonesia, I was often insecure about my English. Many of my rich friends had private tutors and opportunities that my family simply couldn’t afford.
So I learned wherever I could. I watched US television shows, listened carefully and practised constantly.
To now find myself on American television speaking in English to 70 millions viewers is something my younger self could never have imagined.
In many ways, it feels like a gift to that young boy who doubted himself.
It’s also proof that learning can happen anywhere. Sometimes your classroom isn’t a school. Sometimes it’s a television screen, which I know sounds very strange.

Renovatio started in Australia and is now expanding across North America. What has been the biggest challenge — and the biggest surprise — in scaling internationally?
The biggest challenge has been patience.
I’m naturally someone who likes to move quickly. As an entrepreneur, you always want things to happen faster. Expanding internationally has taught me that growth takes time.
I’ve had to learn that patience isn’t about slowing down. It’s about trusting the process while continuing to move forward.
The biggest surprise has been how strongly people have responded.
I always believed our products and technology could succeed internationally, but until customers embrace them, it’s still just a theory.
Now we’re seeing proof. We’re seeing people connect with the science, the story and the mission.
It’s incredibly exciting because I genuinely believe we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible.
Your approach blends clinical nutrition, food science and wellness. How do you balance scientific rigour with making products that feel accessible and easy to use?
My philosophy is very simple.
We only create products that I would personally use and confidently give to my own family.
People spend their hard-earned money on health products, and I believe we have a responsibility to make sure those products deliver genuine value.
Science is incredibly important, but science only matters if people can actually use it.
That’s why we focus on creating products that are effective, convenient and easy to incorporate into everyday life.
I also believe in meeting people where they are in their health journey. Not everyone wants a complicated wellness routine.
Sometimes the best solution is the one that people can consistently use every day.

With Americans embracing your supplements, skincare and pantry products, what category do you see exploding next in the US market?
I believe we’re entering an era of everyday wellness.
Consumers are becoming more educated and they’re asking smarter questions. They no longer want products that simply sound impressive. They want products that genuinely work and fit seamlessly into their lives.
That’s why I’m particularly excited about functional pantry products and science-backed skincare.
People don’t necessarily want more products. They want better products.
The future belongs to products that combine convenience, scientific evidence and meaningful health benefits.
I think we’ll see enormous growth in products that transform everyday habits into wellness opportunities.
You’ve said this is “just the beginning.” What does the next chapter of the Aussie Apple Doc look like — for you, for Renovatio, and for global wellness innovation?
For me, this has never been about selling supplements, skincare or pantry products.
It’s about helping people become healthier and happier.
Too many people feel that health is complicated, expensive or out of reach. In some ways, the wellness industry has unintentionally created barriers that make people feel excluded from good health.
I want to change that.
I want to help democratise health by taking world-class science and making it accessible, practical and affordable for everyday people.
For Vincent and Renovatio, that means continuing to innovate, investing in research and developing products that genuinely improve lives.
For global wellness, I believe we are moving beyond hype and quick fixes. Consumers are demanding more transparency, more evidence and more authenticity.
My vision is to help people build generational health. Not just helping someone feel better today, but helping families create healthier habits that can be passed from parents to children and from one generation to the next.
If we can achieve that, then we’ve done something much bigger than building a successful company.
We’ve helped create a healthier future.
And as for the Aussie Apple Doc, I’m just getting started. When I first began my PhD, I used to think my goal was to change the world. But over time, I realised that perhaps my true purpose is much simpler and much more meaningful: to change someone’s world.
That’s what happened with my grandmother. Seeing her regain her mobility, confidence and quality of life showed me the power that science can have when it reaches the right person at the right time.
So every morning, I wake up with the same mission—to use science to help people live healthier and happier lives. If along the way I can change someone’s world, just as I changed my grandmother’s, then I believe we’re doing something truly worthwhile.
