While working on the song and navigating through the loss of her grandparents, Olivia Reid perceived a new enlightening message from her lyrics: to remember that loss is natural and that time is precious. With dreamy vocals, ethereal strings, and warm acoustic guitar lines, the track emanates a soothing and peaceful ambiance. The incredible production of the single includes harmonically pleasing vocal layers with a satisfying instance of word painting when the “winter choir” joins Olivia Reid’s voice. Our favorite part is that the track actually includes the sounds of footsteps in the snow in the song’s background to really set the scene. “While working on the mix of the song, I was dealing with the loss of two of my grandparents and heard the song in a new light. Dealing with loss, I realized the lyrics I had written had new meaning – “it’s habitual, it’s natural, it’s not to fear no not to fight, mythical, spiritual, all in time dear all in time.” I had written them a message of patience to myself. But dealing with grief, it felt like a new reminder not to fear loss but understand it as a natural, mythical part of life – and to realize how precious time is without fearing the passage of it.” – Olivia Reid
Known for her strong lyricism, soothing vocals, and cross-genre collaborations, Olivia Reid articulates the most intimate parts of the human experience. “All in Time” is an extension of the theme from her previous single, “Quite Simple,” showing a different side of the coin to remember there are times in life when it’s okay to move slowly and to realize how precious time is without fearing the passage of it. “All in Time” was mixed by Daniel Neiman (Pom Pom Squad, Meg Smith), mastered by Grammy-award-winning engineer Jett Galindo (Weezer, The Carpenters, Colbie Caillat), with additional vocal engineering from Amara Jaeger at Hyperballad Music.
