Milis is a Swedish songwriter/artist with roots in Senegal. Music has always been her passion since she was a kid. There was always a lot of music playing at home when she grew up. Eventually, she started to write her own songs. Milis also studied Production and Engineering a few years ago at I.A.R (Institute of Audio Research) in New York City.

What is success to you?

For me, success is to be able to live on your creative work and to be happy.

And what are your success habits?

I meditate and pray. I’m very driven and work hard. My motto is that everything is possible.

Who is your most outstanding support when facing hardships in business?

My mother, she has always believed in me.

What are your hidden inspiration sources? How do you generate new ideas?

I get inspiration from friends, and from people in general. I love to write when I’m at a cafe. Sometimes when I don’t have inspiration I force myself to create anyway, and it will come.

What has been your most satisfying moment regarding your music?

Living in NYC and performing at different places. Meeting many creative, talented people with the same vision. Being surrounded by music daily.

What’s your least favorite personality trait you don’t like about yourself.

I can be introverted and shy around new people.

If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?

French.

I have my gemstones. Ametist is my favorite.
