Country singer-songwriter Kimberly Dawn returns with her deeply personal new single, “Deere John.” The track is a tender tribute to the countryside that raised her — a bittersweet farewell to the Canadian family farm that shaped her values, her work ethic, and the woman she has become. Through vivid storytelling and heartfelt nostalgia, Kimberly captures the ache of leaving home while honoring the roots that continue to guide her.

Kimberly’s musical journey began later in life, after becoming a mother of four. Picking up the guitar and piano, she embraced songwriting as a way to express her truth and uplift others navigating the delicate balance between motherhood, partnership, and personal ambition. Her music reflects courage, vulnerability, and the belief that it’s never too late to follow your calling.

“When my parents decided to sell the farm I grew up on, I felt compelled to write about how I was raised and what it meant to me,” Kimberly shares. “Deere John” is filled with memories of long days spent riding a John Deere tractor, the quiet lessons of rural life, and the bittersweet realization that home lives on in the heart long after the land changes hands. The single was produced by multi-instrumentalist Don Miggs, known for his work with Mick Fleetwood, Tower of Power, and his band Whole Damn Mess, as well as tours with ZZ Top and Cheap Trick.

Now based in Nashville, the Canadian-born artist continues to draw inspiration from her upbringing. The simplicity, beauty, and honesty of farm life echo through her sound — shaped by icons like Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks, Reba McEntire, and Shania Twain. “The memories of our farm are what shaped me into the person I am today,” she says. “We all grew up somewhere, and those characteristics stay with us.”

Kimberly’s bohemian-meets-glam aesthetic brings a refreshing edge to modern country. Her creative path has led her to collaborate with respected songwriters including Jeff Cohen (The Band Perry, Sugarland), David Berg (Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton), Gregory Friia (Eric Paslay, Bonnie Tyler), and Anthony Mazza (Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey).

In 2022, she partnered with MAGIC Tradeshow, performing on opening day of their first-ever Nashville event. She also maintains a brand partnership with women-owned vintage boot company Planet Cowboy. On July 1st, Kimberly will release a duet titled “Do I Love You” with Grammy Award–winning songwriter and artist Paul Anka, whose legendary career includes collaborations with Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra.

With a growing global fanbase and an authentic connection to her listeners, Kimberly Dawn continues to carve out her place in country music. “Deere John” will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday, July 29th.
