Her first single of 2022, the irreverent, quirky #1 HIT ‘Push Em Up Jill’ certainly got our attention, and the super hooky with a message ‘Blue Shoes’ also nailed the charts capturing the hearts of us all.

Her new single ‘Love Me’ is a smooth, sensuous song revealing another side to Rae’s personality where she expresses her experience and revelations of overcoming depression & anxiety and feeling confident in herself. Rae explains when everything seemed dark & hopeless, she learned to have compassion and love for herself.  Rae Leigh is taking chances with her vulnerable storytelling and has a lot of fun doing it.

As this project was sponsored by Gold Coast Council, Rae wanted to find a Gold Coast location to feature in the music video. She found the amazing Purling Brook Falls in Springbrook National Park and worked out a way to create a visual of her struggles with depression in the darkness.  Director; James Latter, and a small crew, shot the music video at the waterfall at night. Miraculously the filming all took place in one evening as the team learned very quickly the challenges of working against a fading light, shooting in darkness, and dropping temperatures after being in the water. “When writing ‘Love Me’ I was inspired by the relationship between people and nature. I love that every flower is unique and there is no need to compare them to each other. Just like we appreciate all of mother nature, I wish people could love each other in this open and accepting way.”  — Rae Leigh – Songwriter & Artist

Rae met Michael Flanders in a podcast interview, during which she learnt of his experience and the talent that he had worked with. Rae asked if he would be interested in producing her next single, and after receiving RADF funding she went to Michael, who immediately knew this was the song he wanted to record with her.

For mastering he went to industry professional and Multi Grammy Award winner Brad Blackwood. Producer – Michael Flanders Mixing – Jason Millhouse Mastering – Brad Blackwood

“ When Rae first played me the song ,my first thought was how do we keep the intimacy within the production. I think we finally achieved this with not going too guitar heavy with little support parts around her intimate vocal”

Micheal Flanders – Producer

“My favorite release to date from Rae Leigh. The lyrics and melody instantly put you in a reflective state of mind and the imagery is stunning in the video. Truly well done.”— Jessica Lynn – American artist & songwriter
