Astrid S Releases Acoustic Video for “Jump

MTV EMA-winning Norwegian indie pop singer Astrid S has released the acoustic video for “Jump.”

“Jump” is taken from the 5-song self-titled debut EP ASTRID S (Island Records) – available now for digital download and streaming via digital subscription services. The EP consists of five tracks including “Paper Thin” and “Hurts So Good” the official video for which is available to watch now.

Of the single, Astrid S says: “I’m very excited to finally release this single from my debut EP. It shows another side of me, I think. It’s more like a ballad, and the range in it is a little different than what I usually sing. I really like the song very much, and I hope you do too!”

The music video was directed by the acclaimed screenwriter and director, Andreas Öhman at Naïve Studio in Sweden. Of the video, Astrid remarks: “It was a very cool experience to do this music video. I went to Stockholm for two days, and we filmed it by a beautiful summer house outside of the city, as well as in a studio. It felt so uncomfortable doing the scenes with the actor which depict the aspects of a complicated relationship reflected in the song’s lyrics. But after seeing the final result it was so worth it. I’m very happy with the video, and I think it suits both the song and me.”

2016 Spotify Spotlight artist Astrid S released her debut, self-titled EP this year, and saw over 1.1m streams on the day of its release. Lead single ‘Hurts So Good’ was recently awarded platinum status in Norway, and the official video has over 2.8 million views to date on YouTube. Still at only 19 years of age, she has already won the MTV EMA for ‘Best Norwegian Act’, featured on Avicii’s ‘Waiting For Love’ remix EP and worked with acclaimed artists and producers such as Shawn Mendes, Matoma and Lido.
