Brian Quinn – Until Fall (New Single) | Dark Country Rock

Candlebox guitarist Brian Quinn debuts solo single "Until Fall." Explore the new "dark country" sound from this multi-platinum rock veteran.

After a decade as the lead guitarist for multi-platinum rock icons Candlebox, Brian Quinn is stepping into the light—and the shadows—with the release of his debut solo single, “Until Fall.” Released on March 13, 2026, the track introduces a “dark country” sound that blends the grit of hard rock with the soul of the blues.

“With this project, my goal is to forge a new sound built from all of my musical influences,” Quinn explains. “It’s heavier than the current polished version of country music, and the lyrical content leans darker. It’s about the journey — the setbacks, the distance traveled, and ultimately finding your way back home.”

The Birth of “Dark Country”

“Until Fall” is a departure from the polished country found on mainstream radio. Quinn describes this new chapter as an introspective journey that leans into the heavier influences of his career.

  • A Decade in the Making: Originally written in 2012, the song never quite fit Quinn’s previous bands (Octane, Fosterchild). A decade later, inspired by long-standing comments on an old acoustic YouTube demo, Quinn realized the song was the key to his solo identity.
  • The Message: At its core, the song is an underdog story. It explores isolation, the “loneliness of the mirror,” and the relentless pursuit of purpose.
  • The Sound: Heavy, bluesy, and unapologetically raw. As Quinn puts it: “This kind of music isn’t dead. It’s a changing of the guard.”

Recorded at the Legendary Studio 4

To bring this vision to life, Quinn collaborated with award-winning producer Ron DiSilvestro (The Dead Milkmen, The Smithereens).

  • The Lineup: Featuring Ron DiSilvestro (drums), Mike Vlaanderen (bass), and Dustin Napoli (keys).
  • The Pedigree: Rhythm tracks were captured at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA—the same halls that hosted legends like Bob Dylan, The Police, and Billy Joel.
  • DIY Spirit: Quinn tracked his own vocals and guitars at his home studio, “Headquarters,” ensuring the project remained a personal, full-circle reflection of his artistry.
