Renowned for their unique lyrical ability and individual brilliance, Kent-natives OC LEE and Nick Notes transition away from their solo careers and come together for the brand new release “COCO” as part of the OuttaCity collective.

Leading the way for UK rap outside of the capital, the pair capitalize on years of experience, serving up an enthralling debut single paired with captivating visuals to match, smartly produced by fellow Kent-native Jay Parpworth.

Growing up in Kent, OC LEE is now a veteran of the game and has created music since the age of 13. Renowned for his early rise under the guise of ‘LAW’, the esteemed MC quickly built up a reputation as one of the best spitters in Kent and builds on his legacy with close friend Nick Notes.

Nick Notes

Surrounding himself with music from a young age, Nick takes influence from a plethora of genres including R&B, Grime and Hip-Hop — demonstrating his unique flair and smooth bars. Over the years, both artists have run into personal issues but are now fully focused on producing some of the most exciting UK hip hop to come out of Kent.

Standing strong since 2012, OuttaCity demonstrates that the UK hip hop scene is well and truly alive outside of the London bubble, as OC LEE and Nick Notes prepare to push the outer boundaries and set speakers alight with their straight heat.

How would you describe your music?

We like to think of it as a relatable expression of everyday life for the majority of the world!

Who are your main musical influences?

The UK scene on whole is very inspiring nowadays! Lots of new sounds and artists we can all appreciate

But growing up it was Eminem, slim shady days! And came upon grime so artists like Wiley and Skepta definitely played a part.

What is your new single “COCO” all about?

“Coco” represents leaving behind your old ways and moving forward for the greater good! Keep the circle tight and pursue what’s meant to be!

Has your musical journey been a deliberate direction, or did it simply gradually evolve in whatever direction it found?

We’ve always written and made music but only in the past year has it become something serious.

What can we expect from you in the next 12 months or so?

You can definitely expect to hear a lot more music and see many more visuals! But more importantly, progression!! You can stay up to date by following us on Socials!

What do you think the greatest invention has been?

Oh definitely the political, educational and justice systems..lol

Do you have any superstitions?

Always counting magpies! As long as we don’t see a lone 1!

Do you have any lucky items, objects, or traditions?

We like to keep plants around us

What would be a good theme song for your life?

Tame imapala – New person same mistakes

If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?

Stay consistent and focus on one thing at a time!
