Here’s the Wedding Song You’ve Been Waiting For. On September 5th, Crazy Dog Records will release My Promise, the brand-new single from UK vocalist Andrew Nolan.
You will find it written by veteran songwriter Steve Fearn, whose career stretches back to his days with Fearns Brass Foundry in the 60s, and it is already being hailed as the perfect soundtrack for a couple’s first dance.
You hear Fearn explain, “When I wrote My Promise, I wanted to capture something timeless. In the 1960s, it was all about energy and youth. But love, real love is about commitment. That’s what I tried to put into this song: a vow set to music,” and you see the video really brings the song to life and depicts a love story of a same-sex couple set in Lake Como, Italy.
You will notice the single was produced by David ‘Buzz’ Buswell, a respected figure in the UK music scene. Known for his meticulous ear and decades of experience, Buswell brought a modern classical polish to Fearn’s classic songwriting. “Working on My Promise was a joy,” Buswell says. “It’s a simple song at its heart—voice, melody, emotion. That’s what makes it powerful. We didn’t want to clutter it, just let the sincerity shine.”
You will hear Andrew Nolan explain, “When I first heard Steve’s lyrics, I knew instantly it was a wedding song. It has that rare quality of being personal yet universal. Every line feels like it was written for someone showing their commitment to a relationship and ready to take that step forever.”
