Wintur ruminates over “writer’s block,” a double entendre referring both to his inability to write and to the tragic hurdles in his love life. The hushed, whispery vocals culminate in a quiet realization: the young alt-pop artist has ended up in the same place over and over again, despite trying to quiet the deeper pains that come from heartbreaking breakups and the end of previously good experiences. He wants to move forward, but the memories and lingering emotions pull him back, turning reflection into creative confinement rather than soothing catharsis.
There’s something deeply tragic about this track’s quiet strength.
