By reflecting on a time of darkness and despondency, Ben Haenow has crafted a song full of sincerity. ‘Falling Down’ serves as his fourth independent single.

The former X Factor winner beautifully conveys his innermost feelings on the track by symbolically referencing the weather. When everything is falling down like rain, a loved one can provide shelter from the storm.

In contrast to the song’s brooding lyrics, ‘Falling Down’ features an upbeat instrumental that is delightfully retro in sound. Ben’s remarkable vocals shine through with passion and power.

Speaking about the inspiration for his new single, Ben Haenow said:

The song is loosely about my experience of The X Factor and the rise and fall of life after the show. It’s about that feeling of everything falling apart in your hands. I guess it was kind of a song about losing faith and not really knowing who you are or what your next move should be.

Everyone has that one person you run to who doesn’t judge you when things go wrong and you just want to hide away but it seems you may even be losing that person too. I would say it was one of the songs I wrote at a time when I felt a little lost and disheartened with it all.

‘Falling Down’ is the fourth single to be lifted from Ben’s forthcoming second album. It follows the singer’s previous releases: ‘Alive’, ‘Forgive & Forget’ and ‘Rising’. All four tracks were self-penned by Ben and his brother Alex.

Despite the sombre lyrics featured on his latest single, Ben has never felt more determined and that’s all thanks to the constant support from his fans. His first independent single ‘Alive’ recently surpassed one million streams on Spotify.

With his sophomore album on the horizon and more live shows lined up throughout the year, Ben Haenow has an indisputably bright future ahead. The 33-year-old’s evocative lyricism and musical prowess continue to show no limits.
