In late 2015, Buzzing Norwegian alt-pop songstress Dagny delivered an energetic, entrancing, and enigmatic anthem with “Backbeat.”

The track has since been released at all digital retailers via Republic Records. Following its world premiere on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, the Norway-born and London-based songstress amassed over 9 million Spotify streams in a couple of months’ time, landed on “Artist to Watch” lists from Apple, Spotify, and Tidal, and earned features from The Line of Best Fit and more. Coupling a handclap stomp, resounding piano, and spirited guitar, “Backbeat” instantly energizes, especially once its cinematic and unshakable refrain kicks in. Her dynamic voice takes the spotlight and doesn’t let go. Right now, she’s in the process of working on her debut EP in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for more very soon.
